Navy Geothermal Plan

Abstract

Domestic geothermal resources with the potential for decreasing fossil fuel use and energy costs exist at a significant number of Navy facilities. The Geothermal Plan is part of the Navy Energy R and D Program that will evaluate Navy sites and provide a technical, economic, and environmental base for subsequent resource use. One purpose of the Program will be to provide for the transition of R and D funded exploratory efforts into the resource development phase.
