Abstract
Investigations at the Grant River Public Use Area were implemented in order to mitigate potential adverse effects to a known archaeological site (47 Gt 24), the Osceola Site. The remnant of the Osceola Site was determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places on March 9, 1984. Specific goals of the investigations included intensive survey of the area involving remote sensing techniques, soil coring, block and test excavation, reinterpretation of earlier investigations, and development of a long-term management plan for the area.
