Inequalities for Distributions with Increasing Failure Rate.

Abstract

Inequalities are obtained for IFR (increasing failure rate) distributions. These include bounds on the renewal function for a renewal with IFR interarrival time, and bounds on the quality of exponential approximation to IFR distributions.
