Cash Management in the United States Marine Corps.

Abstract

For most of the history of this country, cash management within the Federal government consisted primarily of accounting for receipts and expenditures. The result was a myriad of directives and circulars requiring agencies to tighten the control and expedite the processing of Federal receipts and expenditures. The purpose of this thesis is twofold. First, it is to provide a general overview of current Department of the Treasury requirements and the current status of Marine Corps efforts in implementing policy to satisfy those requirements. And second, it will bring under one cover, the historical background, directive literary references, current requirements, and current Marine Corps policy for use as an all-encompassing reference for future Marine Corps graduates in Financial Management. Keywords: Marine Corps Finance.
