Abstract

This report describes an eight year change project designed to effect the working relationships among black and white managers in a corporation of more than 12,000 employees of whom approximately 2,000 are managers. The undertaking began in 1976 with a systematic diagnosis of race relations in management. In 1980, at the conclusion of the diagnostic phase, the corporation committed itself to a program of change defined by a series of six recommendations for change.
