Fleet Training Requirement Analysis for Air Intercept Controllers.

Abstract

This effort was conducted to validate the air intercept controller (AIC) basic course objectives and address several AIC training issues by surveying course graduates as well as members of the air and surface warfare communities. The results indicated that the overwhelming majority of course objectives were in consonance with fleet requirements for basic AIC training. In particular, the skills portion of the course was considered to be of high validity and usefulness to prospective AICs. With regard to knowledge factors taught, most respondents agreed, but to a lesser degree, that the knowledge factors are valid and useful for prospective AICs. Thirteen recommendations concerning the course content and AIC training are made. Keywords: Job survey, Task analysis.
