Design and Implementation of an Intelligence Database.

Abstract

This thesis presents the design and implementation of the Intelligence Database system. A database management system must be used in Intelligence System in order to increase end-user productivity, decrease staff effort, enable the work to be done more efficiently, and permit end-user management more authority and responsibility. The Semantic Database Model was chosen as the method for designing the database. The SDM is a high-level semantics-based database description and structuring formalism for database design and enhances usability of database system. Using the output of SDM in the Intelligence database, the records are rearranged in order to fit a relational DBMS. The Intelligence database is implemented, using the ORACLE relational DBMS. Additional keywords: Computer architectures; Systems engineering; Relational data bases. (Author)
