Inherent Angular Tracking Error in an Amplitude Comparison Monopulse Radar.
Abstract
Amplitude comparison monopulse tracking of a two-element target is studied. A Gaussian radiation pattern for the antennas is assumed. It is demonstrated that the cross over angle of the antenna assembly and the target angular span are essential parameters for determining the angular tracking error. Computational results showing the inherent error curve, X sub alpha (A), are provided.
