Cultural Data Base Implementation Study and Computer-Aided Scene Modeling System Users Manual.
Abstract
This report describes the software developed for cultural features data base generation as implemented in the Remote Work Processing Facility at the Defense Mapping Agency Hydrographic/Topographic Center (DMAHTC). Manmade structures such as buildings, smokestacks, or storage tanks that appear on stereo pictures are measured by an operator and the measurements are combined by the software system to create a data base. Concepts, commands, and operational procedures are discussed. Contents: Computer Aided Scene Modeling System Overview; Technology Description; Structural Data Base Organization; Mensuration/Camera Modeling; Structural Modeling; Future Technology Evolution; Operating Environment; System Hardware Components; System Software Components; Key System Design Concepts; System Control Philosophy; Data Base Organization; Commands; System Operation; An Example of CASM System Operation; Data Base Record Formats; List Command Formats; Determination of Constrained Three-space Coordinates; Simplified Camera Model and its Determination; Determination of Quadric Surfaces From Two Projective Views.
