National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Notch Reservoir Dam (MA 00283), Hoosic River Basin, North Adams, Massachusetts. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is an earthen enbankment about 584 ft. long and 60 ft. high. The dam is in fair condition. Evidence of seepage was noticed at the toe of the dam. The dam is intermediate in size and the hazard potential is high. Investigations are recommended to determine the stability of the embankment, the effect of seepage and the need and means of increasing the discharge capabilities at the facility. There are also a few remedial measures for the owner to undertake.
