Abstract

The first Herring Brook Reserrvior Dam consists of an earth embankment with a concrete core wall. The embankment has a top width of 20 ft. and a maximum height of 21.5 ft. The overall length of the dam is 700 ft., including a 42 ft. long concrete spillway. The dam is considered to be in fair condition. It has a size classification of small and a high hazard potential. It is recommended that the owner engage the services of a registered engineer to specify and oversee various procedures.
