Larose to Golden Meadow, Louisiana, Hurricane Protection Project. Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement.
Abstract
This report assesses the impacts of the inclusion of two agricultural tracts, the exclusion of a marsh area, and the realignment of a floodwall in conjunction with the Larose to Golden Meadow, Louisiana, hurricane protection project. The project is located in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. Wetland losses associated with the project were also reevaluated. The project provides for a hurricane protection levee from Larose to Golden Meadow. The levee would extend about 21 miles on the west bank and 22 miles on the east bank of Bayou Lafourche. The complete systems would have a net elevation of +13.0 feet NGVD at Golden Meadow to +9.5 feet at Larose.
