Abstract

This document describes progress on (1) the development of a packet radio network, and (2) speech compression and evaluation. Activities reported under (1) include work on PDP-11 TCP development, station gateway and ELF development, and digital unit checkout; under (2) implementation of covariance lattice method; specification of ARPA-LPC System II; investigation of phoneme- specific intelligibility test; study of effects on intelligibility of lost packets.
