National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Strangman Pond Dam (MA 01097) Annisquam River Basin, Gloucester, Massachusetts. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is a 100 ft. long, 16 ft. high earthfill dam. There are deficiencies which must be corrected to assure the continued performance of the dam. The dam is small in size with a hazard potential of high. It is recommended that the owner immediately institute a plan for surveillance of the dam during periods of heavy rainfall and a plan for notifying downstream residents in the event of an emergency.
