A Management Information System for the SAC (Strategic Air Command) OPSEC (Operations Security) Program.

Abstract

The Operations Security (OPSEC) monitors in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) use Threat Advisory messages to determine when SAC activities are subject to possible foreign exploitation. The current system has three deficiencies: (1) the timeliness of the data, (2) the completeness of the data, and (3) the format of the data. This thesis develops a management information system (MIS) which overcomes these deficiencies. The MIS features a query subset which allows the OPSEC monitor to retrieve information from a central database. To maintain the database, the MIS includes programs which allow the database administrator to add to, modify, and delete from the data files. The MIS is a tool which will allow the SAC OPSEC monitors to more effectively protect SAC assets from exploitation. Key words: Databases, Electronic intelligence.
