VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrated) Tutorials through the Video-Computer Courseware Implementation System.

Abstract

An overview of the University of Utah Video-computer Courseware Implementation System (VCIS) programs is presented. A tutorial is included which is designed to provide an author with enough knowledge to create a simple lesson containing test and graphic frames. VCIS was used in creating two tutorials, which exercise most of the functions in the authoring system. One tutorial is only text and is an introduction to the Berkeley UNIX operating system and its vieditur. The other tutorial contains both text and graphics and is an introduction to Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) circuit design. Keywords include: Computer-Aided Design (CAD); Computer Aided Instruction (CAI); UNIX; and VLSI Design.
