The Weapons Support System User's Guide.

Abstract

The Weapons Support System (WSS) was created as a research and development tool in the areas of gravity data elevation, the generation of gravity products, and the study and analysis of geodetic and geophysical (G&G) effects on weapons system. The WSS will facilitate the design, development, and testing of methods, procedures, and algorithms, especially those with that involve a user's online interaction, in real time, with a data base, computational facilities, and graphics devices. The WSS consists of: Hardware: - a carefully integrated combination of powerful minicomputer with associated peripheral devices, including user terminals and a color graphics display unit. Systems Software: - a time-sharing virtual memory operating system to support a multiuser environment. Applications software: - custom programs developed for the WSS, in these four application areas: Evaluation of gravity data, Data smoothing and analysis, Multisensor survey simulation, Rapid gravity field estimation (GEOFAST) Keywords: Gravity, Gravity Data Elevation, Weapons Support System, Data Smoothing, Spectrum Analysis, Multisensor Survey Simulation, GEOFAST.
