Chemical Protective Suit Environmental Protection Agency

Abstract

Development of a modular hazardous environmental protective ensemble, for Environmental Protection Agency Personnel involved in the clean up of hazardous materials spills. It contains all the components necessary to isolate the user form a toxic environment. It's modular design provides the user the option to select different combinations of components in the ensemble to best accomplish his mission tasks over a climatic range of -17.8C (-0.04 F to 100.4 F). Body cooling, needed for operating in hot environments is accomplished by the use of a modular liquid-cooled cap/vest.
