Linear Absorption and Scattering of Laser Beams

Abstract

This report describes the linear transmission effects of the atmosphere on laser beams and gives examples of high resolution (FASCODE) model predictions of transmittance for carbon dioxide, deuterium fluoride, Hydrogen fluoride, Neodymium - Yttrium alluminum garnet, Iodine, and Excimer laser wavelengths. Keywords: Atmospheric transmittance; Laser attenuation; Linear propagation; Infrared; Visible; Molecular absorption; Aerosol extinction; Aerosol absorption.
