National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Northwood Lake Dam, (NH 00285), Merrimack River Basin, Epsom, New Hampshire. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is a concrete gravity structure about 165 ft. long and 13 ft. high. The overall condition of the dam is good. The dam has a spillway adequate to pass only 10 percent of the estimated PMF. More detailed hydrological and hydraulic studies are therefore needed to refine the Spillway Design Flood for this low dam and determine appropriate spillway capacity or the ability of the dam to withstand overtopping.
