National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Avery Dam (NH 00465), NHWRB 130.02, Merrimack River Basin, Laconia, New Hampshire. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is a 114 foot long hybid concrete gravity structure with a maximum height of about 20.5 ft. It is intermediate in size with a high hazard potential. The test flood is the PMF. The dam is in good condition at the present time. With the exception of the channel improvements and the repair of one of the sluice gates, only few relatively minor operating and maintenance improvements are necessary. In light of the dam's good condition, periodic technical inspections should be scheduled every two years. (Author)
