National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. New Durham Dam (NH 00345), Merrimack River Basin, New Durham, New Hampshire. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is a concrete gravity dam with embankment dikes constructed across a narrow channel in a moderately broad section of the Merrymeeting River Valley. The dam is about 50 ft. long and 21 ft. high. The dam is judged to be in fair condition. It is small in size with a high hazard potential. The earth embankment at the east end of the dam would be susceptible to erosion during overtopping. (Author).
