Abstract

Murphy Dam consists of an earth embankment dam with a side approach channel overflow spillway. The crest length of the dam embankment is 2,200 ft. with a hydraulic height of 106 ft. The dam consists of an earth embankment dam with a side approach channel overflow spillway. It is large in size with a high hazard potential. The dam is in good condition. Although some deficiencies were noted, there was no evidence of settlement, lateral movement or other signs of structural failure, or other conditions which would warrant urgent remedial action.
