National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Taylor Dam (NH 00026) NHWRB Number 209.02, Merrimack River Basin, Salem, New Hampshire. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

Taylor Dam is a 420 ft. long, 21 ft. high composite structure consisting of earth and stone supplemented by a concrete wall. The visual inspection did not disclose any findings that indicate an immediate unsafe condition. The condition however, is poor. The dam's spillway will not pass the required test flood. Since the dam's spillway will pass only limited flows and will not pass the test flood, the hydraulics should be thoroughly reviewed. Keywords include: Inspection, Dam safety.
