A Simplified Method of Estimation of the Specular Components of Radar Cross Section for Some Re-Entrant Conductors.

Abstract

Methods of ray optics are used to describe the wavefronts emerging from the specular lines or specular rings on three separate irradiated re-entrant conductors for short radar wave-lengths. The conductors are a biconical reflector, a hollow circular cylinder with a far flat termination, and a thin spherical shell with a circular hole. The associated far fields and hence their RCS(Radar Cross Section) components are then found from evaluation of the associated simple field integrals using Huygen's Principle. This is an Australian document.
