Air Force Inspector General Complaints Data Base

Abstract

The Air Force Inspector General complaints data collection system was developed to provide commanders and managers with a management tool to be used for identifying possible problem areas in Air Force programs. There has been little success to date, however, in using the data base for that purpose. The report analyzes the validity of the complaints data base to determine if it is suitable for statistical inference. The study concludes that the data base is not a reliable tool for predicting potential problems.
