Annotated Bibliography of Publications Dealing with Occupational Health and Medical Information Systems, Cost Analysis Procedures, Evaluation Methodology and Related Legal Issues.

Abstract

The purpose of this selective bibliography is to provide a sense of the scope of the literature relevant to the subject matter of interest in this project to test and evaluate the Navy Occupational Health Information Management System (NOHIMS). The intent has been to describe the contents of each reference in sufficient detail so that a decision could be made whether or not to obtain a copy of the complete article. Articles are taken from journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Proceedings of the Fifth Annual Symposium on Computer Applications in Medical Care, Journal of Occupational Medicine, Navy Lifeline and Science. Topics cover a variety of topics such as liability for personal injuries caused by defective medical computer programs, computers in medical care, mental health information systems, COSTAR, Environmental Health Systems, and Medical surveillance requirements.
