Fracture Toughness of Hydrogen-Embrittled Precipitation-Hardened Stainless Steels.

Abstract

The chevron-notched specimen method was used to determine the fracture toughness of precipitation-hardened (PH) stainless steels possessing a range of microstructures. The specimens were tested while immersed in various aggressive environments (air, salt water, acidified salt water, or after cathodic polarization).
