An Evolving Digital Telecommunications Industry and Its Impact on the Operational Environment of the Nationwide Emergency Telecommunication System (NETS).

Abstract

Following a national disaster, a Nationwide Emergency Telecommunications System (NETS) would be created by combining the existing telecommunications capabilities of government, public carriers and private networks. This thesis addressed an evolving digital capabilities, reviews the digital telecommunications industry and analyzes the impact of a changing digital technology upon the desired features of a pre-emergency network.
