National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Flat River Reservoir Dam (RI 00601), Massachusetts/Rhode Island Coastal Basin, Cranston, Rhode Island. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is comprised of two earth embankments separated by a section of higher natural ground. It is 24 ft. high and 750 ft. long. The dam is considered to be intermediate in size with a high hazard potential. It is in very poor condition due to serious seepage problems which could lead to piping failure. There are various recommendations which should be undertaken by the owner.
