Role of Chemical Bonding in Adhesion.

Abstract

This project was concerned with the principal factors that govern the strength of elastomers when filled with rigid particles. The factors studied were: the level of adhesion between the elastomer and the rigid surface; the size and number of the rigid inclusions; and, the strength of the elastomer itself. Additional keywords: elastomeric composites; rubber.
