3-D Computation Techniques Applied to Internal Flows in Propulsion Systems Held at the Propulsion and Energetics Panel and the Consultant and Exchange Programme of AGARD on June 1985,

Abstract

This lecture series reviewed the numerous recent developments in applications to turbomachinery (compressors and turbines) of three-dimensional(3-D) computation techniques for internal flows. The necessity of a 3-D approach in the case of locally or fully supersonic flows was emphasized. Off-design operation of turbomachines was also considered. Also, the possibilities of further advances offered by the use of the super-computers of the new generation were discussed. Keywords: Turbojet engines; Aircraft engines.
