National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Norton Brook Dam (VT 00102), Richelieu River Basin, Town of Bristol, Addison County, Vermont. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is an earth embankment consisting of a dam section and an immediately adjacent dike section. The dam is about 354 ft. long and about 34 ft,. high. The dam is in poor condition, primarily because of the presence of sinkhole-like features upstream from the core wall of both the dam and dike. It is small in size with a significant hazard potential. There are various remedial measures and recommendations which should be implemented by the owner.
