Composites Design

Abstract

This report includes the fundamental equations for the stiffness and strength of laminated composites and two approaches to determine the optimum strength of laminates. Formulas for micromechanics and for unsymmetric laminates are simplified so that material and geometric factors can be more easily optimized than the unabridge theory. This report is intended as a source of information for designers, fabricators and researchers of composites.
