An Analysis of the Effects of Varying Male and Female Force Levels. Annex 2. Volume 2. A Dynamic Model to Estimate Availability for Military Service of American Youth, Age 18 to 23, through the Year 2000.

Abstract

An objective of the USAF Special Study Team is to document the changing number of enlistment age youth through the year 2000. A dynamic model estimates the availability (for military service) of American youth, age 18 to 23, through Fiscal Year (FY) 2000. This Volume presents that model and its results. The model documents a decline of about 22% in the 18 to 23 year old qualified military available population between FYs 1984 and 1996. Contents include: Projection of Total Population, Qualification Rates for Military Service, Aptitude and Education, Medical Standards, Moral Standards, Overall Military Qualification Rates and Accession Requirements. Data Tables are also included.
