Abstract
Papers delivered at a conference of Southeast Asia which covered Cambodia and world power involvement in Southeast Asia; leadership, legitimacy and succession in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia; and the surrent and future role of the military in Vietnam, Burma, and Thailand. Official representatives of the ASEAN states discussed future economic, political and social prospects for their region.
