A Family of Curves for the Rough Surface Reflection Coefficient.

Abstract

This report puts forward statistical models for the sea surface which are used to derive a family of theoretical curves for the rough surface reflection coefficient. One of these curves fits the experimental data curve. Other experimental data points lie within the envelope of the derived curves. There is, therefore, a theoretical basis for the experimental data when the surface roughness exceeds 0.1 rad. Keywords: Antennas; Microwave systems; Sea wave elevation; and Coherent reflected field.
