Cultural Resources Investigations in Recreation Areas, Saylorville Lake, Iowa.

Abstract

This report presents the findings of a cultural resources investigation of 12 selected recreation areas in Saylorville Lake, Iowa, for the purpose of surveying and testing previously unsurveyed and newly located sites and for relocating and testing potentially impacted sites. The report describes all of the archaeological work conducted on 33 sites, including land form and soil identification, lithic analyses, determinations of eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places, and recommendations for the future status of each site.
