An Archeological Overview and Management Plan for the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant, Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Abstract

The Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant (AAP) is located in southeast Tennessee, just east of Chattanooga. The Plant contains a total of 7297 acres and is situated in an area of great archeological interest. The region has produced important information pertaining to all major cultural periods from Paleo-Indian through the Civil War and recent historic times. No archeological survey has been conducted on the facility.
