An Archeological Overview and Management Plan for the Redstone Arsenal, Madison County, Alabama.

Abstract

The Redstone Arsenal, located in north-central Alabama, is comprised of 38,303 acres. It is under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Materiel Development and Readiness Command, and houses six governmental organizations and a government-owned, contractor-operated facility. The Arsenal is located near the western foothills of the Cumberland Plateau and is bordered on the south by Tennessee River. The facility occupies well-drained, hilly land in the northern section and low, swampy terrain in the southern portion.
