Shot Group Analysis Program for the M16A1 Rifle

Abstract

This note contains a description of and BASIC program listing for a shot group analysis program for microcomputers. Using this program, target coordinates of individual shots are entered and important shot group statistics are calculated (e.g., mean and median radial error from target center and shot group center, standard deviations of X and Y, etc.). These measures can serve as valuable dependent variables in the research and evaluation of weapons, ammunition, and marksmanship training. Keywords: M16A1 rifle; ballistics.
