Experimental Evaluation of the Superdart Projectile Location System

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to report the test results of the Superdart Projectile Location System, an electronic target system capable of registering the locations of both hits and complete misses on field fire targets. Tests were performed using Australian soldiers firing at Superdart stationary and moving targets. Other tests were performed, using the equipment in automatic, night, suppressive, protective mask, and assault firing. The targetry equipment has value for training with precise hit-and-miss feedback, determining what and how to train, and for test and evaluation of weapons, ammunition, and equipment.
