The Feasibility of Implementing an Expert System for Aircraft Maintenance Discrepancy Scheduling with the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information system (NALCOMIS).

Abstract

The feasibility of developing an expert system to support the scheduling of discrepancies in Maintenance Control is examined. A general review of expert systems and NALCOMIS is presented. An in-depth analysis is based on the interviews with several experts. The ability of NALCOMIS to support an expert system and discussion on whether such a system is warranted for this problem domain conclude the thesis.
