Generation of Phosphorus Ester, Phosphorus Amide, and Phospine Derivatives of Low Coordination Number.

Abstract

The 5,6-oxaphosphabicyclo(2.2.2)octene ring system was created by O-insertion into a strained C-P bond of 7-phosphanorbornene derivatives, and then used for the generation of metaphosphoric and metaphosphonic acid derivatives by retrocyclo-addition. Synthetic methods were developed for creating 2-phosphabicyclo(2.2.2)-octene derivatives as potential generators of phosphaalkenes. The new fragments Me2N-P double bond S and Cl3CH2OP double bond S were generated from retrocycloaddition of 7-phosphanorbornene derivatives. Originator supplied keywords include: phosphinamides; phosphinates; metapohosphates; phosphinous chlorides; 1,4-azaphosphorins; pyrryl-2-phosphonates; metaphosphites; phosphinidenes.
