Microwave and Infrared Absorption Properties of Atmospheric Species with Special Emphasis on Line Widths and Shifts.

Abstract

In this report the work performed on updating the HITRAN data base and hot gas atlas is described and the list of data given. Our work on the development of the QFT-ID theory for collision broadened halfwidths of asymmetric rotors, i.e. 03 and H20, is described. A review of second order perturbation schemes to calculate the line shift and width is given with application to H20. The temperature dependence of the line shift and halfwidth is formulated and results are presented for the 03-N2 and 03-02 systems.
