Expert Systems in Contract Management. A Pilot Study.

Abstract

The work reported comprised Evaluation of expert system shells; Preparation of a demonstration expert system to select construction equipment (cranes etc) to handle materials on multi-storey sites; and Review of potential applications of expert systems for construction management. The objective of this study was to test the applicability of expert systems to Construction Management and to disseminate the findings. This report has been prepared in a form that should be suitable for circulation within the construction industry and thus secure the dissemination of findings.
