Design Description of the Advanced Technology Unit Training and Management System (ATUTMS)

Abstract

A computer-based management information system was designed to assist unit training at the battalion level. A prototype system was successfully implemented and made operational within a host battalion of the U.S. Army. This Design Description documents the hardware and software design of the prototype. This manual documents the design and implementation of the Advanced Technology Unit Training Management System (ATUTMS). It is intended for use by programmers, analysts and operators who are responsible for maintaining or developing system software. It will also be useful to anyone interested in the internal design and operation of the system.
