Electromagnetic Scattering Properties of Finite Cylinders and Spheroids.

Abstract

The perturbation theory suggested by Shifrin is applied through the second order to the scattering of light from dielectric spheroids and finite cylinders. Double scattering events involving long cylindrical particles are discussed. Comparisons between experimental and theoretical scattering from long brass and copper cylinders are discussed also. Keywords: Light scattering; Scattering by cylinders; Scattering by ellipsoids; Multiple scattering.
