An Economic and Performance Survey of the City of Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Abstract

This thesis is a case study which describes the process of designing and conducting one citizen survey composed of two questionnaires one for residents and one for business. The survey was conducted in the City of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, a city of approximately sixteen thousand people, located on the Atlantic Ocean in north-eastern Florida. The purpose of the survey is to analyze two principle areas: the diversity of the economic base of the city and the quality of the municipal services provided to its residents. This analysis will provide a clear and real picture of the city and its citizens. The thesis will describe the method used in conducting the Jacksonville Beach survey and the recommendations and conclusions reached from the analysis of the survey results.
