Determination of Selected Properties of Teletype Parts.

Abstract

Selected properties for materials used in the fabrication of the teletype parts supplied by DESC (Defense Electronic Supply Center) were determined. These properties (hardness, surface roughness, and chemical composition) will be used to convert procurement of these parts from sole source to multisource. Cost savings have been established through prior efforts conducted by DESC/SV and AFWAL/MLSE. Keywords: Teletype parts; Value engineering; Oxygen free electronic copper; Beryllium copper.
